The practical successor to bruneton-neyret-2008-precomputed-atmospheric- scattering: the same physical atmosphere, but evaluated each frame into a small "sky-view" lookup texture parameterised by view altitude and azimuth from the Sun, rather than into large precomputed tables. That arrangement is the one the three-dimensional panel uses, and its ozone layer (a tent-shaped absorption profile centred at 25 km) is what gives the modelled twilight its blue.
